Lair Jordan: Michael Jordan's Highland Park Mansion Finds Buyer After 12 Years on the Market

A New Home for Basketball Royalty

After 12 years of being on the market, Michael Jordan's opulent Highland Park mansion has finally found a buyer. The property was listed for $14.85 million in 2012, and has been reduced in price multiple times since then. The latest asking price was $12.5 million before it was taken off the market in 2021.

A Palace Fit for a Legend

Nestled in the exclusive Chicago suburb of Highland Park, the sprawling mansion sits on nearly 3 acres of land and boasts over 56,000 square feet of living space. Inspired by European castles, the property features a grand staircase, a home theater, a wine cellar, a gym, and a putting green.

The main house has nine bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, including a lavish master suite with dual walk-in closets. Outside, the grounds are meticulously landscaped and include a serene pond with a fountain. The property is also home to a regulation-sized tennis court and a basketball court that pays homage to Jordan's legendary NBA career.

A Long Journey to Sale

Jordan purchased the mansion in 1991 for $2.5 million and spent several years renovating it to his exacting standards. He listed it for sale in 2012 for $29 million, hoping to attract a buyer who would appreciate its grandeur and history. However, the price point proved to be too high, and the property languished on the market for years.

A Legacy Preserved

Despite its time on the market, the mansion remains a testament to Jordan's impeccable taste and his love for his family. It is a fitting tribute to his remarkable career and his status as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. While the property has changed hands, the legacy of Michael Jordan will forever be intertwined with the sprawling mansion he once called home.
